How can I make a bracelet smaller?

Whether a bracelet can be resized depends entirely on its construction. Link bracelets are the most straightforward case: a jeweller removes one or more links to shorten the length, a process that typically takes under an hour. Rigid styles, including cuff bracelets, require a different approach because there are no removable components. A skilled jeweller must physically reshape the metal, which means the work is more involved and the result depends on the alloy and setting type. For bracelets set with lab-grown diamonds, resizing carries an added consideration: any stones near the adjustment point need to be secured or temporarily removed to avoid damage during the process. Before attempting any work, confirm the bracelet's construction with a qualified jeweller to understand what is and is not possible. See also: When is a bracelet too big for your wrist?
