How do I remove a ring that's stuck on my finger?

A stuck ring can be removed at home using a few reliable methods before turning to a jeweller. Start by elevating your hand above heart level for two to three minutes to reduce blood pooling, then apply a lubricant such as dish soap, coconut oil, or hand lotion directly around the band. A cold water soak for five to ten minutes can also reduce minor swelling enough to slide the ring free. These methods work regardless of ring material or setting style, including prong-set lab-grown diamond rings where you want to avoid snagging the stone. If none of these approaches work, a jeweller can cut the band safely and have it resized or repaired afterward.
