What happens if I ordered the wrong ring size, and can my ring be made smaller?

Ring size exchanges at Valquère are free of charge within 30 days of delivery, provided the piece is returned in its original, unworn condition. This applies to standard designs ordered in an incorrect size; the replacement is made in the correct size at no extra cost, and where the size difference is small enough, the original ring is physically resized rather than remade. Downsizing is a bench process of removing a measured section of metal from the band, then soldering, polishing, and refinishing the join until it is invisible, restoring the ring's original surface quality without a visible seam. Most rings can be reduced by up to three sizes; beyond that, the structural integrity of the band and any pavé or channel settings becomes difficult to preserve. Rings with lab-grown diamonds set continuously around the full circumference, such as eternity bands, cannot be downsized this way because the stone sequence leaves no metal-only section to cut. Solitaires, three-stone designs, and most halo settings are straightforward candidates. After the 30-day window, resizing remains available at an extra cost; personalised pieces or cases where wear has affected the metal may require a full remake, with a written price proposal provided before any work begins. All services require the ring to be sent to the Antwerp atelier; use the after-sale form on the website to begin. See also: How do you know if a ring fits too big or too tight?
